I was having problems getting the system to boot off of the cdrom, even after modifying the nvaliases at the ok prompt.  After a little research I cracked the shell and looked inside.  The last person to do this was a Sun tech who decided that the cdrom be put on the secondary master and the 2 hard drives set as primary master and slave.  This configuration will not work in an Ultra 10.  I switched it out to where the cdrom was the primary slave.
