We stopped our power cycle today and started our diet cycle. This is going to be a tough 3 months. Mike is going to have me on a very strict diet, and along with the training I’m hoping to drop around 40-50lbs in 3 months. More would be great, but this is a goal I think I can stick to.
We get to have 4 cheat meals per week, so I’ll see how that goes pretty quickly. I’m hoping I can keep my caloric intake to around 2500 calories or so per day. With the strength cycle I was eating between 4000 and 5000 per day. I know, I know.. that’s a ton of calories, but my strength improved dramatically. I believe that’s why I wasn’t seeing too much in gains while training at Gold’s – I was taking in around 2500 calories and dropping weight but not gaining strength. Now that my strength is close to where I want it I will be trying to maintain that while losing the gut and the weight I gained while on the strength cycle. That’s 30lbs that I’d lost plus another 15. gah!
